The citizens of Munich were invited to attend the festivities held on the fields in front of the city gates to celebrate the happy royal event. The fields were renamed Theresienwiese ("Theres'a Fields") to honor the Crown Princess, although the locals have since abbreviated the name simply to "Wiesn". Orlando's Official Oktoberfest
Trinity hosts Orlando's official Oktoberfest because we are the oldest German Church in Downtown Orlando.  Founded in 1919, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church gathered German immigrants along with German-Americans who moved to the area.  Around the same time, German-Lutheran churches in America began holding services in English and Trinity's worshiping community began to expand.  Today Trinity is a community of Christians who care for Downtown Orlando and desire all people to join in worship.  Although we are no longer only Germans, we are proud to pay homage to our founders and show Orlando a truly authentic Oktoberfest experience.
